Shall We Ceilidh?

With St Andrews Day in our sights and the prospect of many ceilidh dances ahead as the nights draw in, now might be a good time to brush up on your Strip the Willow and Dashing White Seargent steps.

The Edinburgh Branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society (RSCDS), founded in 1924 with the aim of encouraging traditional Scottish dance, is offering courses of one and a half hour dancing classes including Beginners “Country and Ceilidh” in Newington, Duddingston and Stockbridge with the aim of teaching "a dancing step or two ready for all those festivities".

The charitable organisation caters to all levels of experience from "complete beginners, to those who ‘just did it at school’, to people who have been dancing their whole lives."

You also don’t need a partner to participate. See the RSCDS website.
