Sleeping Warrior Theatre Company – a fresh young collective based in Glasgow – aim to bring new, vibrant and unique work to the stage, creating shows that are inventive, fun and distinctly Scottish, with new music at their heart.
Their ethos is showcased in their new show – The Rise and Inevitable Fall of Lucas Petit – which is a 21st century fable featuring original music and lots of laughs from award-winning writer/director Andy McGregor (Vinyl Idol – 2016, Love 2.0 – 2015), whose had Mr Petit in his head since studying at the RCS and can’t wait to unleash him to the world.
Lucas Petit is a truly unremarkable man, the highlight of his life being a weekly trip to the B&Q Café and he likes it that way. Then a chance encounter with a stranger toating a magical briefcase – that may or may not be God – turns his life upside down, leading to brushes with organised crime and disorganised religion!
A co-production between Sleeping Warrior Theatre Company and Macrobert Arts Centre, in association with Showroom and with support from Creative Scotland, it’s being toured across Scotland this autumn, stopping off at the Scottish Storytelling Centre for two fun-filled performances on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 September.
