Taste of Edinburgh
Food and drink festival Taste of Edinburgh moves this year to a later date and from Inverleith Park to its former venue in The Meadows. Expect a host of cookery displays and presentations from celebrity chefs and local Edinburgh restaurants, hands on culinary classes, and over 100 stalls from Scottish purveyors of speciality food and drink in the temporary gastronomes' village.
Six top chefs: Gary Rhodes, Jean-Christophe Novelli, TV cook and author Rachel Allen and Michelin stars Daniel Galmiche, Martin Blunos and Atul Kochhar will each be on stage for the live cooking demos.
They are joined at this year's Edinburgh Taste event by award-winning local restaurants: Restaurant Martin Wishart, Chex Rouz, Cucina at Hotel Missoni, First Coast, Mark Greenaway at Hawke & Hunter, Ondine, Plumed Horse, Tigerlily, Vincaffé, Wedgwood, as well as the Cook School by Martin Wishart.
The big attraction is the tasting itself with usually a plentiful amount of wines, beers, liqueurs, cheeses, deli meats, seafood, and such like to sample throughout the show area. This year the later date may also mean more produce on site.
