As recently reported, Edinburgh Central Library will soon be undergoing some upgrades. This grand old building has retained much of its original character, but as this public information film from the council points out, there is much at library that has changed over the years.
It's not just the growth of technology that you can find in the library. In times gone by, there were separate library rooms for ladies and men, and browsing through books off the shelf was not encouraged.
