Since its inception in 1816, the racecourse at Musselburgh has suffered highs and lows as horse-racing's fortunes have waxed and waned, but the "sport of kings" is alive and kicking on Edinburgh's Easterly outskirts with many renovations in recent years.

Regular buses leave from Princes Street, and trains run to Musselburgh railway station from Waverley station.
