Edinburgh's Hogmanay: Feet First

Feet First is a specially commissioned event for 1 January 2009 showcasing top Scottish street performance and outdoor arts. The aim of the ensemble performance work is to inspire optimism and hopes for the New Year ahead.

With thirteen Scottish Street Theatre companies and over 120 artists involved, Feet First is an ambitious project staged on the Royal Mile that combines light, sound, still and moving images, aerial and puppet performances.

This free event is interactive, caters for families of all ages and is the biggest performance of new street art specially commissioned, created and produced in Scotland.

Funded by the Scottish Arts Council and the Scottish Government Edinburgh's Festivals Expo Fund, Feet First producers Paul Pinson and Chloe Dear who has done lots of work with the pagan-revivalist Beltane Fire Festival over the years.
